St Albans Cycle Campaign is holding a public meeting on preserving rights of way for cyclists and horse riders.
The campaign has invited Phil Escritt, of the St Albans Access Forum, to explain how routes come to be designated rights of way.
Campaign committee member Nick Clarke said: “Rights of way legislation is changing in a few years’ time so historic rights of way that have existed for many years can be preserved.
“But if those rights of way are not confirmed they will be lost.”
The St Albans Cycle Campaign encourages cycle usage in St Albans district, and promotes cycling as part of a more balanced transport system in the district.
They claim achieving rights of way improvement will result in more cycle routes and bridle ways, both in the city and the surrounding countryside.
The meeting is being held in the Methodist Church on Marlborough Road on Thursday, May 25, starting at 7.30pm.
