WELCOMING a new bundle of joy into their lives was how proud parents Judith and Dominic Munsey started off the New Year.

Baby Thomas was born at 6.20am on Tuesday, January 1, at Watford General Hospital weighing 7lb 1oz.

The couple, of De Tany Court, St Albans, were due to have their first child on Boxing Day but he decided not to make an appearance until nearly a week later.

Mum Judith, 34, who spent New Year’s Eve watching fireworks out of the window from her hospital bed, said: “It is a fantastic start to the year, I didn’t think about it at the time when I was in labour that it was New Year’s Day but it is a lovely thing that it happened. It will always be a special day.”

Now back home with her son she added: “It is a complete change to life but it is a wonderful change. He is lovely.”
