Popping corks greeted friends and supporters of a St Albans charity when a fundraising party was held in the garden of two of its supporters.
Ann and Steve Barnes opened the garden of their St Albans home to celebrate the work of the Bereavement Matters, the charity which has been offering support to the families and friends of the bereaved for the past 12 years.
As well as a glass of chilled fizz, the sell-out event offered bowls of freshly-picked strawberries and a chance to relax in a private garden. It raised £750 to help support the bereaved in the local community.
Bereavement Matters director, Jane Journet, thanked Ann and Steve for hosting the afternoon and commented: “The support and generosity of everyone who attended was very much appreciated and the funds raised will be invaluable in helping us to continue the work we do.”
