A local councillor has been remanded on conditional bail to appear in St Albans Magistrates’ Court next week, to face an assault charge.
St Albans district Cllr for Marshalswick South Salih Gaygusuz was last month charged with assault by beating following an alleged incident at St Albans waste recycling centre at Ronsons Way.
The Herts Ad understands that the councillor was unable to appear at the Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday as he was on a pre-arranged holiday.
Instead, a solicitor spoke on his behalf, and asked for an adjournment.
Cllr Gaygusuz has been told to appear at the Magistrates’ Court next Friday, October 17.
