St Albans council is asking people to send videos and written testimony of their experiences on Govia Thameslink Railway services to a parliamentary inquiry.

The Transport Select Committee is investigating the timetabling and overcrowding problems on Thameslink and want filmed evidence of the challenges commuters have faced.

The council’s business portfolio holder Salih Gaygusuz said: “We were promised a once-in-a-generation change and instead we were plunged into months of disruption that continues to this day.

“This parliamentary inquiry offers people a chance to tell those in authority about their horrid experiences and send in videos to prove just how bad it has been. They can also give their views on issues ranging from constant cancellations to difficulties with the compensation system.”
