TRAIN disruption has hit commuters on the Thameslink line today (Friday) due to staff shortages.
The staff problems with operator First Capital Connect (FCC) has resulted in a number of trains in both directions being cancelled this afternoon.
An FCC spokesperson said that only six of the new 23 trains the operator has ordered as part of the Thameslink improvement project have arrived, which has meant there isn't enough for driver training.
To ease the rush-hour congestion, FCC tickets will be accepted on London Underground services until 8pm.
