A brass band has been busking in St Albans city centre, not for money, but for players.
A St Albans City Band quintet entertained shoppers by the Clock Tower in order to advertise vacancies and its upcoming concerts.
Musical director John Campbell said: “We had great fun entertaining the crowds today and hope to attract some new players.
“Our autumn repertoire will feature music by Vaughan Williams (Henry the Fifth), Holst (Mars from the Planets Suite), Elgar (Dream of Gerontius), Ravel (Rigaudon) and Butterworth (Banks of Green Willow).”
Anyone interested can see the band at the St Michael’s Church WW1 Commemoration Weekend on Saturday, September 8 from 12.15pm to 2pm.
Anyone interested in playing with the band can contact John Campbell on 07709 975729 or j.campbell9369@gmail.com for details.
