HERTS 10K founder Lawrence Levy has been honoured with the prestigious President’s accolade in the annual St Albans and District Chamber of Commerce Community Awards.

Lawrence was recognised by President Graham Lane for his hard work and dedication in the creation of an annual event which to date has raised over 500,000 and is the single largest fundraising event for Grove House Hospice.

The money raised from the race enabled Grove House to bring forward their plans to launch their Hospice at Home Service.

Lawrence said: “I am really honoured to have been awarded the Chamber of Commerce President’s Award and I am determined to make the Herts 10K better each year to ensure that Grove House Hospice has a sustainable event that will continue to provide much-needed income for many years to come.”

Paul Parrish, fundraising director for Grove House Hospice, added: “I am truly delighted that Lawrence has received further recognition for his hard work and dedication. Lawrence has committed himself heart and soul into raising funds for Grove House which means that people in St Albans suffering with so many different life-threatening illnesses will receive the help and care they deserve.

“Through his fundraising efforts and personal generosity, the people of this area are receiving a more comprehensive service than they were just five years ago. Well done, Lawrence, you deserve this.”
