A BURNING car abandoned in a rural lane was extinguished by St Albans firefighters yesterday (18).

The incident occurred just before 10pm last night, when firefighters were called to the scene at Barley Mow Lane.

It took the fire brigade just under an hour to extinguish the flaming car, which may have been purposefully set on fire.
