POLICE investigating three burglaries, which took place in St Albans last week, believe they could be linked.

The incidents happened between Tuesday September 13 and Wednesday September 14, at three properties on Hatfield Road.

The first was at a home, between 8pm on September 13 and 10am on September 14, where one or more offenders have approached the property and tried to force open the door. However, they were unsuccessful and left empty-handed.

The second was at the Asian Food Store, between the same times. One or more offenders are said to have attempted to force their way in through a back door, but were again unsuccessful.

Tyre Trax was also targeted, between 6pm on September 13 and 8.45am on September 14. Offenders forced their way in through the front door to gain entry. However, it is unclear at this stage whether anything was taken.

DC Rebecca Primrose, investigating from St Albans Crime Unit, said: “I would like to appeal to anyone who heard or saw any suspicious activity around the time of the incidents to come forward.

“The offenders may well have been there for some time as they tried to break into all three properties and this may well have attracted the attention of neighbours who perhaps didn’t realise they were burglars. If this was you, I would really like to hear from you.

“Alternatively, if you have any information on these crimes, I would also encourage you to get in touch.”

Anyone with information should contact DC Primrose via the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
