A talented St Albans dancer was part of a performance which wowed Britain’s Got Talent judges last weekend.
Jac Coxall, 23, was dressed up as a scary clown with the dance group TNG - which stands for The Next Generation - which rushed from the audience onto the stage to frighten the judges during auditions week five.
They danced to Beautiful Monster by Ne-Yo, received four yeses, and are through to the deliberation round.
Jac said: “It’s a bit of a crazy feeling, it’s surreal thinking that I am actually doing it. I was excited as it’s a nice feeling, especially being with people you dance with.”
After joining TNG in July last year, Jac described his fellow dancers as an “extended family”: “From the first day I went, even at the audition, it’s such a warm environment and so welcoming.”
The group, which was 24-strong, only had about four rehearsals before performing, Jac said.
When the dancers came to scare the judges, comedian David Walliams joked: “Simon [Cowell], I know you must be happy because you love clowns. Are you frightened? Are you okay?”
Simon replied: “This is disturbing.”
Afterwards judge Amanda Holden said: “It was horrible, but in a really, really good way.”
Alesha Dixon added: “The idea to come out like this was brilliant so I’m excited to see what happens next with you guys.”
TNG founder Ricky Labib, 30, said he chose clowns because he loves to use vibrant costumes: “I was in the audience and it was electric.
“I think the performance showed everything about what the concept was about and it gave people a taste for what we can do if we get through.”
He described Jac, who went to Sandringham School in Marshalswick, as a superstar.
Ricky set up TNG in 2010 and there are now about 100 dancers in the company. The group that performed on the TV was set up in September 2015.
The deliberation round will air on May 27.
