A successful personal trainer has won a prestigious bodybuilding competition in St Albans, her hometown.
Holly Moffatt bagged first prize at the UK Bodybuilding Fitness Federation (BFF) Classic Championship in the Junior Bikini category, which was held at the Alban Arena on July 1.
This also means the 21-year-old has qualified for the British Final in Nottingham this October.
Holly has also recently come fourth at the UKBFF English Grand Prix and third at the UKBFF South East and London Championship, both also in Junior Bikini.
Bringing home gold in her hometown was particularly gratifying, the Beaumont School alumna said: “It was amazing and I was really hopeful but I wasn’t expecting it - so when they called my name out I got a bit emotional.
“My parents are so supportive, having them in the audience and hearing them cheering was exactly how I envisaged it in my head.”
She has been preparing for this competition since the beginning of this year, training four times a day with both weights and cardio.
Holly fell in love with weight training at about 16-years-old, with support from a personal trainer working at Nuffield Health, Wellbeing and Fitness gym.
She is now a personal trainer herself by trade, operating under HollyM PT.
“I wanted to get into bodybuilding because it is good for my business as it showcases what I am capable of and helps myself get out there, but I would love to make it a career and compete as a professional one day,” she said.
She will now rest for about a month before starting to prepare for the British Final.
The UKBFF commented: “Winner Holly Moffatt presented an ideal look for the class, combining balance, tone and shape with the right amount of development.
“Holly grew up in St Albans and used to appear on the Alban Arena stage in theatrical productions so this was quite a homecoming.”
UKBFF is part of the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB), the largest organisation of this kind in the world.
The IFBB was founded in 1946 and has national federations in 196 countries.
