A city bike shop was broken into in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday, May 27).

A spokesman for Herts Police confirmed officers are investigating the suspected burglary at Triathlon Zone in Hatfield Road between midnight and 1.45am.

Thieves smashed a window in the front door of the shop to gain entry and stole bicycles and sportswear.

He also confirmed the exact amount of stolen goods isn’t yet known as the shop’s owners are still assessing their stock.

Anyone with information is asked to call Herts Police on non-emergency number 101 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
