The Muslim community in St Albans is having a celebratory feast during Ramadan.
The St Albans Big Iftar (breaking of the fast) will be held at Fleetville Recreation Ground on Saturday from 6.30pm to 9.45pm. People of all faiths and none are welcome to attend the event, which has been organised by the Adda Club, a group dedicated to promoting Bangladeshi culture.
Enterainment and activities will include bouncy castles, soft play, and stalls offering mehendl (henna) and Islamic arts and crafts. The Khayaal Theatre Company will tell Islamic stories and singer Khalil Mohammed will provide music.
There will be a free Iftar meal for everyone, including a Vegan option, and meals can be reserved online at http://www.theaddaclub.co.uk/.
Adda Club founder Monir Ali said: "We are so excited about this event, it's the first of its kind in the city and we are looking forward to sharing the blessings of the month of Ramadan with everyone."
