A large donation has been made to a local charity to help people diagnosed with life-limiting illnesses.
Keech Hospice Care has received more than £7,000 from the St Albans-based financial services company Synergy.
The money will be used to support the charity’s hospice care for families and a cheque was presented to Liz Searle, the hospice chief executive.
She said: “Keech relies on public donations for around 70 per cent of our running costs each year.
“Business donations, like this one from Synergy, play an important part in ensuring that we can deliver our vital services, free of charge, for everyone who accesses them.”
Chief executive of Synergy, Ben Pears, added: “People diagnosed with terminal and life-limiting conditions not only experience physical symptoms, but also have social, emotional and spiritual needs as well.
“The team at Keech do an amazing job providing care and support to the patients and their families as well; I am delighted that we are able to support such an important local charity.”
