A FRENCH chain has submitted plans to convert a popular city centre bar into a restaurant.
Cte Restaurants want to turn The Vintry in High Street, St Albans, into a Parisian-style bistro and a planning application has been submitted to the district council.
The plans for the alterations, which require listed building consent, are currently under consultation and a decision is due by the end of July.
The chain, which already has seven restaurants in and around London, has proposed an "intimate" design for the interior more reflective of its original use as a private house along with minimal exterior refurbishment works.
