A band of brothers have released their first single to help raise money for a cause close to home.

Purple Day is named after the international epilesy awareness day and consists of three brothers from St Albans.

10-year-old Zach Pile, Finn Pile, 13 and Josh Pile, 16, released a song on iTunes about about their older brother who was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of six.

Luke, 19, was moved to the St Elizabeth’s Centre, a facility that offers support to people who have epilepsy, so he could have a more independent life.

The song Brothers was written to say thank you to the centre for its support and includes the lyrics, “The future has good things for us, hold on to hope my friend”. Mum Beccy Pile, who lives in the Highfield area of St Albans, said: “They’ve written it themselves, its proper music, not auto tuned and not computerised.

“I think they wrote it really as a thank you to St Elizabeth’s for the freedom that Luke has got.

“It’s a song about him moving forward and them moving forward.”

The boys hope to sell the single on iTunes and will then donate the money to the St Elizabeth facility.”

Beccy added: “They just want to raise money to help if they can.

“It’s from the heart and that’s why it resonates; its not sophisticated, but it’s very real.”

The song is available on iTunes for 79p.
