ST ALBANS: Caretaker Spurs boss Tim Sherwood, who was born in St Albans, was busy this week preparing the team for the Capital One Cup quarter final last night against West Ham.

Tim, 44, who still has strong links with the area, was appointed interim boss on Monday after the sacking of manager Andre Villas-Boas in the wake of the team’s 5-0 thumping by Liverpool.

The former professional footballer who was captain of Blackburn Rovers’ Premiership title-winning side in 1995, played for Spurs as well as another local team Watford during his career.

He joined the coaching staff at Spurs in 2008 and following his appointment as interim boss, many pundits believe he has a strong chance of being made permanent manager.
