Caroline Jones, 47, started her Knickers Model’s Own campaign at the beginning of the year, vowing to wear pre-loved clothes every day of 2015 in a bid to raise money for Cancer Research UK (CRUK).

The campaign has since garnered international fame thanks to a large social media following and two national television appearances, and Caroline’s fundraising target grew from £1,000 to £36,500.

On Wednesday (4) she took part in a Cancer Research UK fashion show at Harpenden Public Halls, later putting her entire wardrobe up for sale alongside other CRUK stalls.

The evening raised £4,796, with £2,693 of that going towards Caroline’s campaign after she sold 80 per cent of the clothes she put up for sale.

She said: “When I first laid it out it was like an art installation, it was very moving to see it all. I was very proud of it all; there was nothing I wasnt happy with.”,

Caroline estimates she had about 1000 items for sale, including her shoes, jewellery and accessories alongside the clothes.

A preview was held earlier in the day for people to come and see the collection before they bought it.

She added: “It was like a Harrods sale, it was a frenzy. The line snaked around the entire hall; at one point I had to step away from the madness.

“It was exciting and I was really proud of the night. It was a real community event.”

As the campaign approaches its end, many have asked if Caroline has anything else up her sleeve. She commented: “I might have, it’s not goodbye yet.”
