DAHLIAS have been wowing visitors to a St Albans garden centre which has been holding its annual festival.

Aylett Nurseries on the North Orbital Road is now into the second week of its dahlia festival which runs until Sunday. (20)

Visitors have been pouring in to see the display in the marquee and the adjacent two and a half acres of trial fields with row upon row of dahlias of all shapes and sizes.

The festival is also raising money for the charity Greenfingers by offering numerous additional events including a guess the weight of the cake competition and a staff raffle.

Adam Wigglesworth, a director of Ayletts, said: "I think this year is a bit different and people have really loved it. We have had lots of good feedback and lots of people supporting the Greenfingers charity.
