CHILDREN in the St Albans district woke up to a heavy snowfall on Sunday morning.
Toboggans and trays - long since put away for next year - were dusted off as youngsters took to any hilly areas they could find to enjoy the fun.
And while the snow was clearing fairly quickly by lunchtime, snowmen of all shapes and sizes were built all over the district including one towering effort in a field alongside the M10 motorway which caught the attention of passing motorists until late in the afternoon..
Former Herts Advertiser chief photographer Dave Harris caught the magic of the snow in these photos.
