This art-deco style illuminated lettering will be the first thing that greets eager film lovers when they arrive at the city’s only cinema.
Developers recently submitted an application for the neon signs, one of which will be bright pink and horizontal at the top right of the London Road building.
A vertical lit-up sign will also be high above the cinema’s proposed entrance along with another neon sign just to the left above the doorway.
The monochrome appearance of the two main signs was chosen to match the “historic and original style and era” of the 1920s building.
Currently the application is under consideration and a decision is expected to be made at some point during February, with the opening date of the attraction slated for this summer.
