The first step towards creating a neighbourhood plan for a village has been made, to encourage the community to shape the future of the area where they live and work.

Shenley parish council has submitted an application to Hertsmere borough council for the designation of the village as a neighbourhood area, with the proposed boundary including all of the parish, together with part of Shenley Cricket Club.

People have until 5pm on December 22 to comment on the application. Shenley’s is the second application of its kind to have been made in Hertsmere.
