SEVERAL thousand homes were left without power last night (Tuesday) following a fault with an underground cable in the Cell Barnes Lane area of St Albans.
Power was interrupted shortly after 9.15pm and restored in stages from 9.28pm. All customers had their power restored by just after 11.30pm.
A spokesperson for UK Power Networks said: “Some customers saw their power go off for just a few minutes, as our engineers investigated the fault.
“We appreciate how difficult it is to be without power and would like to apologise for the inconvenience this incident caused.”
