Motorists are being warned of M1 delays following a crash near St Albans that left a woman fighting for her life.
The collision at around 4.30am occurred on the northbound carriageway between Junction 5 for Watford and Junction 6 for St Albans, causing all lanes to close until 10am.
Clean up work has now been completed and all lanes have since been reopened. Highways England said it expects delays to start easing.
