PUB and restaurant company The Orchid Group is searching for local community projects that need a helping hand.

The company, which has its head office in Burydell Lane, Park Street, set up its Orchid Blooms scheme three years ago and is currently hunting for a new local project to help this summer..

Orchid is promising £1,000 towards materials plus the manpower to tackle whatever comes its way.

Among the projects that Orchid has been involved in previously was painting play equipment and building a flower bed for the Park Street playground as well as others nationwide.

In addition to Orchid staff making a difference in the community, the scheme offers a unique opportunity for staff members to work as a team across all levels and divisions of the business.

Commercial director Simon Dodd has pledged his full support to the project. He said: “After the success of our nationwide projects, it’s great to be back in Park Street for our next local project. Orchid Blooms is a rewarding way to give something back to the community.”

Suggested projects should be sent to as soon as possible and must be suitable to complete in one day.
