SANTA has arrived in the district and with the help of the Round Table will be making pre-Christmas visits to various streets across the area.

This year his Round Table helpers are collecting money to pay for 50 Christmas parcels to be sent to less fortunate people around the district. The Round Tablers are also hoping to raise money for the Essex and Hertfordshire Air Ambulance Trust.

Santa's evening trips will take place between 6.30pm and 9pm and the first one begins this evening (Thursday) in Chiswell Green, tomorrow he'll be in Whitecroft and on Monday it is the turn of the New Greens estate, on Tuesday it's Cottonmill, on Wednesday he's in Marshalswick, Thursday in the Camp and Friday he travels to Redbourn.

Next Saturday he can be spotted in St Stephens then on Monday, December 15, it's back to Redbourn, Oakwood on Tuesday and Beech Bottom on Wednesday.

He will put in a morning appearance at the city station on Thursday, December 18, and will be in the city centre in the evening.

On Saturday, December 20, the sleigh will take up an all-day slot in St Albans market. Then on Monday, December 22, it's the turn of Fleetville. The last visit this year will be to St Michael's village on Christmas eve.
