Former N-Dubz star Dappy, who lives in Sandridge, has been charged with assault after an incident in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The alleged attacked involving the 26-year-old rapper, whose real name is Costas Contostavlos, happened outside a nightclub in Essex.
A spokesperson for Essex Police said: “Costas Contostavlos, a 26-year-old man from Woodcock Hill in Sandridge, was charged with one count of assault by beating following an incident outside a nightclub on Moulsham Street in Chelmsford shortly before 2.40am on Thursday, February 27.”
He has been released on police bail until Wednesday, March 19 when he is due to appear at Chemlsford Magistrates’ Court.
Last month Dappy came runner-up on Celebrity Big Brother and has been linked to fellow housemate and St Albans businesswoman Luisa Zissman.
