JAMMING with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) was an honour for a group of young music students from a St Albans secondary school.
The RPO and the Hertfordshire Music Service visited Year 7 pupils at Francis Bacon School last Wednesday to help them create a piece of music, which the team then performed to the rest of the school at the end of the day.
Deputy head Stuart Taylor said that the performance received a well-deserved standing ovation and added: "The outcome of the day's workshop was astonishing with the students coming together to perform a magnificent piece of music, which demonstrated hidden talents waiting to blossom.
