Could a pivotal scene in the latest series of Grantchester have been filmed in St Albans yesterday?
ITV has been tight-lipped about what was being filmed on York Road on Tuesday, when actor Robson Green was spotted in front of the cameras.
The city was also a filming location for the ITV show last month, when Pudding Lane was transformed into the outside of a 1950s nightclub.
Green plays Det Insp Geordie Keating in the show, who works with Anglican vicar Sidney Chambers (who will be played by James Norton for the final time this series) to solve crimes in the titular village in Cambridgeshire.
The show is based on a series of books called The Grantchester Mysteries, written by James Runcie, son of the former Bishop of St Albans and Archbishop of Canterbury Robert Runcie, who is buried at St Albans cathedral.
York Road was kept open while filming was completed.
