Traffic is congested between Redbourn and Harpenden due to roadworks and temporary traffic lights.
The roadworks have been in place on the B487 Redbourn Lane since the weekend, and temporary traffic lights have been set up opposite The White Horse pub.
There is severe congestion in both directions all the way back to Redbourn and all the way to Southdown.
The delays are also affecting the surrounding roads.
The roadworks are for essential gas repair works, and will be in place until tomorrow.
