WIDENING a junction in St Albans has forced the closure of a cluster of city centre roads.
As part of Herts Highways' programme for the improvement of the city's road network, some of the roads surrounding Stonecross Junction at the top of Harpenden Road will be closed until next Monday, January 25.
The works - which include relocating an existing telecommunications cable, re-surfacing the widened section of the carriageway and installing new signposts - began on Monday and have resulted in the temporary closure of Cricketers Close from 9.30am to 4.30pm until Friday.
In order to paint the new road markings, Carlisle Avenue and the Stonecross junction will be closed on Sunday from 7am to 7pm.
