Motorists are being warned that Holywell Hill in St Albans is currently partially blocked following a two-car collision.

A spokesman for Herts Police said that at 1.30pm today (Wednesday) a red VW Scirocco collided with a blue Hyundai i10.

An ambulance was called to the scene as there were concerns that one of the drivers was suffering from shock.

However a spokeswoman for the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust said a woman in her 50s checked by paramedics was uninjured, and thus no one needed to be taken to hospital for treatment.

Recovery of the vehicles is underway, but the Herts Advertiser understands traffic continues to build in the area.
