The 4th St Albans Scout Group have raised £600 for life-saving equipment to go to some of the most war-torn and disease-ridden countries in the world.

The Riverside Road-based group gathered the funds for Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) through a sausage sizzle stand at Bunnings and a cake sale.

Section leader Ed Bates said: “Our Scouts chose to raise money for MSF after they hosted an evening for us to explain about their vital work around the world.

“I am very proud of how the troop got behind the work that MSF do and they all demonstrated their community spirit on a global level.”

The money is enough to afford seven folding stretchers and emergency dressing kits for 83 burns patients.
