THE Scope charity shop in the Maltings Shopping Centre, St Albans, has recently undergone a revitalising refit and will re-open to the public on Saturday October 24 at 9.00am.

The disability charity is in the process of upgrading selected stores in time for the festive season, and all flagship shops will all be brought right up-to-date without losing any of the charm that has made them such local favourites.

Celebrating the refit, the shop's newest member of staff, assistant shop manager Christiane Williams, who has been working for Scope for four months, will be cutting the ribbon before the shop opens its doors to the public on Saturday.

Shop manager Jo Osbourne said: "Our shop has always been a fantastic place for high-quality clothes at good prices and now we will give customers an enhanced shopping experience. We are also asking everyone to come along, take a look around and bring in the clothes they don't use any more."

To increase the role the shop plays in the St Albans community, one of the new additions to the store will be a community noticeboard, which will advertise local clubs, theatre and drama productions, council-run events, local attractions and have tourist information.
