RESIDENTS have been left fuming after a brand-new community building on their housing estate was sprayed with graffiti.

People living on the Napsbury Park Estate in London Colney were delighted when the new sports pavilion was unveiled six months ago.

But last week their pride turned to anger and dismay when they found the pavilion's white-washed walls defaced with graffiti tags.

One resident said: "It stands out a mile. The residents are feeling upset, they know who has done this - he has even put a video of it on the internet."

He added: "They just feel it's typical. The graffiti started at the back of Norris Close and has spread to the community buildings. There is a great spirit in the estate and it looks very nice but it's just a shame that this mindless vandalism happens."

St Albans District Council Planning Portfolio Holder Cllr Chris Brazier said the graffiti would be cleaned off but a lot of money had been spent on the pavilion and it was a shame that people felt they had to spoil it.
