A REUNION at a restaurant at Moor Mill was particularly poignant for a group of old friends - because it was on the site of a farm where they played as children.

The group of 23, who call themselves the Colney Kids, were born in the early 1940s and grew up in the latter part of the war.

They all went to Colney Street Infants School before moving on to Park Street Junior and then their respective senior schools. Most of them lived in the area around the former Red Cow pub in Park Street which has now closed.

Some of the Colney Kids kept in touch with one another but for others, the reunion was the first time they had seen each other for more than 50 years.

They came from all over the UK with Sandra Brandon and her husband Rohan Muggleton-Mole - Muggleton is an old Colney Street name - travelling from Adelaide and Pamela Green (Rueedi) flying in from Switzerland.

Sandra has written a book entitled Colney Kids for private publication which she had with her at the reunion held at the Beefeater at Moor Mill near Bricket Wood.
