A local healthcare worker has been shortlisted for a national award for her work with dementia patients.

Janet Crawley, who works at St Mathews Home in Redbourn, has been nominated in the Engagement and Wellbeing category of the National Care Awards 2016.

The awards are an annual event organised by Caring Times magazine devised to celebrate the best people in the long-term care sector.Janet said: “I am passionate about helping to engage with people with dementia, using person-centred approaches and allowing them choice and dignity while helping them to live well with dementia.

“I flourish in this environment, which can only be good for my residents.”

Janet will join other finalists at a Gala Night on November 25 at the Hilton London Metropole Hotel. More than 700 guests are expected to attend.
