A fun run has been launched in Redbourn to raise money for a dementia charity.

The Redbourn Fun Run was launched in a special assembly Redbourn Junior and Infant Schools, and will raise funds for Music for my Mind, which uses music to improve the lives of people with dementia.

Keith McAdam, the charity’s founder, launched the event alongside the Redbourn Fun Run Team. He also congratulated pupils Matilda Bennett and Poppy Bullen, who won a competition to design tambourines which will be shaken by supporters and marshals to encourage runners around the course.

The run, which is now in its fourth year, wil be held on Sunday, May 20 at Redbourn Leisure Centre. Runners can choose between a 1km, 3km, 5km and a relay race.

All participants will receive a Fun Run medal and winners will receive a trophy. The first 100 children to sign up will receive a free t-shirt.
