A celebrated documentary by a successful St Albans director-producer can be seen in a rare showing next month.
Steve McQueen: The Man and Le Mans was officially selected for the Cannes Film Festival in 2015, but because of rights difficulties has not been screened in the UK since.
But next month The Odyssey in St Albans will be showing the documentary - which looks into the actor’s traumatic experiences pursuing his dream of making the racing film, Le Mans, including losing his wife and almost killing a co-star.
Producer and director, Marshalswick’s John McKenna, described the film as the story of “an ego out of control”.
He said it will be amazing to see the feature length film in his local cinema on June 22: “When we were doing it I was dreaming it would be shown in The Odyssey.” John has directed for ITV and also been nominated for a BAFTA.
