THAMESLINK services were disrupted today (Wednesday) after a woman was struck by a train at Luton Station and suffered serious injuries.
The incident happened at 2.30pm when a northbound train approaching the station at around 20 mph struck the victim causing head and arm injuries.
Train operator First Capital Connect (FCC) diverted northbound services via another platform until the emergency services had rescued the woman from under the train.
British Transport Police said she was a local woman in her 50s.
An FCC spokesperson said the incident only caused short delays and normal service was resumed in time for the rush hour.
