YOUNG people in Radlett are urged to get to work on making scarecrows to enter a popular event at the village carnival next month.

Radlett Horticultural Society is once again running its Scarecrow competition for the under 16s at the carnival on Sunday, June 12, at the Phillimore Recreation Ground.

Local schools, Guides, Rainbows, Scouts and Cubs have all been invited to put their heads together to come up with the most original scarecrows in a bid to reach the horticultural society’s target of of 70 eye-catching creations.

Details and a form to enter can be found at the Young Gardeners’ page on the society’s website or contact Paul Balen on 01923 856144.
