A Radlett girl said it with flowers at a recent festival near Versailles in France, where she had the chance to bloom as princess for a weekend.
Olivia Salmon travelled to Radlett’s twin town of Louveciennes to accompany the local queen of the annual Festival of Flowers.
Each year the event includes a convoy of floats decorated in thousands of fresh flowers parading through the centre of the historic town which was home to Impressionist painters, artisans and gardeners who maintained the nearby Palace of Versailles.
Chairman of Radlett’s town twinning association Clive Glover said: “The whole weekend was a fantastic display of local community spirit with events such as a giant Lotto game, classic cars and a magnificent firework display as well as the parade. We all felt privileged to be invited.”
