A 51 year old man described by family members as very caring has died from asphyxiation, a coroner ruled last week.
Kevin Simpson, of Theobald Street in Radlett, died on December 18 last year.
At a recent inquest Herts Coroner Edward Thomas said that Kevin, a coach driver, had been seen by family about an hour before his death, which occurred in a shed.
Paramedics were called to the property, but it was not possible to revive him. A police statement to the Coroner confirmed there was no sign of third party involvement.
Mr Thomas said that medical records showed “nothing significant” and that a post mortem report showed no signs of natural disease.
He determined that asphyxiation was the cause of death and added that Kevin, who had paid for his funeral the day before his death, took his own life.
Mr Thomas told the six family members attending the inquest, “there was nothing you could have done to have saved him.
“I’m very sorry; it’s so sad for the people left behind.”
