Pupils from schools in St Albans and Harpenden have been chosen to represent Hertfordshire in a national business competition.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) put pupils from St Albans School and St Columba’s College in St Albans, St George’s School in Harpenden, Haberdashers’ Aske’s School for Girls in Elstree, Parmiters’ School in Watford to the test in BASE, its national business and accounting competition.
The pupils excelled in areas including commercial awareness, organisation and resilience, and will go on to represent the county at the national final in June.
Justin West, acting director of global student recruitment at ICAEW, said: ““This year we have seen an increase in the number of students taking part, making the competition stronger than ever. All participants showed excellent initiative throughout the process and presented themselves professionally.”
