THIS time it was a case of the wrong colour trousers at the St Albans school which has banned its pupils from wearing clothes which contain figure-hugging Lycra. Charlotte Nash (pictured), aged 15 from Holyrood Crescent, was reprimanded twice in the same week for wearing trousers which were black instead of Nicholas Breakspear's regulation navy-blue. The first time she was sent home and the second time she was ordered out of lessons to change into a spare skirt and a pair of tights. Her trousers contained no Lycra and were a temporary replacement for a skirt which did. The previous week a number of girls had been sent home from school for wearing skirts which failed to meet the new school uniform rules which came in at the beginning of the new school term. It was for this reason that Charlotte's mother Wendy sent her to school in the black trousers while they waited for the school uniform shop to order a blue pair. She said: "If Stevensons doesn't have the trousers then we can't have them. We placed an order at the beginning of the week and they said that they would hopefully have them by the end of the week but until then there's nothing we can do." Charlotte was first sent home last Monday for wearing the prohibited trousers and then on Friday she was taken out of lessons to face the same charge.
