Thirty five participating pubs, clubs and businesses in and around the town are selling raffle tickets for Harpenden Lions Club’s annual Easter Egg raffle.
This year’s beneficiary of the raffle to win giant be-ribboned chocolate eggs in a basket will be The Hospice of St Francis.
The tickets, costing £1 each, can be founds in pubs, clubs and businesses in Harpenden, Redbourn, Wheathampstead, Kimpton, Markyate and Flamstead.
Neville Osmond, of Harpenden Lions Club, said: “We aim to raise £2,500-3,000 for The Hospice of St Francis, which will pay for a week’s care for an inpatient.
“Harpenden and its surrounding villages are part of the hospice’s catchment area and we want the raffle to help local people with serious illness and those close to them.”
