WHAT have Mick Jagger's underpants got to do with a London Colney woman and a TV show? Well you'd have to be psychic to work out the connection but that's no problem for Amanda Hart who was picked from 2,000 contestants to take part in a Channel Five TV show called Britain's Psychic Challenge. One of the challenges was to work out what a sealed envelope contained. Challenges Amanda, a 38-year-old divorced mother-of-two from Morris Way, said: "I could see this spindly figure in my mind then what appeared to be a small, possibly child-sized pair of underpants. From this I deduced that they belonged to Mick Jagger." Other challenges included finding a man hiding in one of 50 car boots and identifying the real criminal from a line-up composed mainly of actors. The challenges are watched by one of three sceptics who include Jackie Malton, the real-life inspiration for the character of Jane Tennison in Prime Suspect. Amanda, who has two children, Amelia, aged six, and Anthony, five, said: "I always knew I had psychic abilities since I was about three when I started to have visions but I closed this side of myself down until about 10 years ago when my grandmother died. "Since then I have been involved with healing and past-life regressions. Basically I see myself as plugging into a 'source' out there in the universe which enables me to activate something in other people to help them on their spiritual journeys." The series which started on Sunday night at 8pm is hosted by Trisha Goddard who will challenge psychics and sceptics and, with the help of a studio jury, will try to decide what's true and false.
