A HEAD teacher has been suspended after Herts County Council confiscated computer equipment and cleared his desk.

Ryan Scott has been head of St Nicholas C of E Primary School in Church Green, Harpenden, for about a year.

Mr Scott, believed to be in his thirties, came to the school two years ago as deputy head before being promoted to head teacher when the previous head retired.

A spokesperson for the county council, which is carrying out its own investigation, said: "He has been suspended on full pay without prejudice."

A police spokesperson said: "We were called in to examine allegations made against Mr Scott but could not produce sufficient evidence to warrant a prosecution."

Mr Scott was suspended around three weeks ago.
