TRAIN services between St Albans and Watford along the Abbey Line have been suspended this week due to a power failure.

The line is powered by the same supply as the West Coast Mainline between Watford Junction and London Euston which has been disrupted since Tuesday night due to problems with overhead wires at Wembley.

Abbey Line operator London Midland has been running a replacement taxi service for the affected passengers between Watford Junction and St Albans Abbey while they work with Network Rail to restore the train services.

A spokesperson for London Midland said limited services had been running on the West Coast Mainline to Euston but could not guarantee when services along the Abbey Line would resume.
